Rhian Teasdale, the lead singer of Wet Leg, may be from the remote Isle of Wright in the U.K., but she embodies New York City in a new short film for Milk Makeup set in the Big Apple, which will be released on Monday, September 14.
Teasdale stars in the brand film alongside local New York City creatives who were selected from more than 1,000 New Yorkers who turned out for Milk's open casting call on Friday, July 17 at Milk's offices in Soho. The film was directed by Arnaud Uyttenhove, choreographed by Sergio Reis (who famously composed the movement for Troye Sivan's zeitgeist-y music videos for "Rush" and "Got Me Started"), and styled by Sarah Richardson (the Editor In-chief of Beyond Noise).
Teasdale and Wet Leg (which she co-founded with Hester Chambers) have had a rocket-like rise since the 2022 release of their breakout single "Chaise Longue." Their self-titled debut, also released in 2022, earned two Grammy Awards. They continued that momentum with 2025's moisturizer featuring the standout head-banger "mangetout."
Now in Teasdale's first beauty campaign, she's bringing the spirit of her music's raw energy to Milk Makeup's new brand campaign. Stay tuned with The FADER for Milk Makeup's short film starring Teasdale on Monday, September 14.
