In case you weren’t aware, The FADER HQ is basically made out of The-Dream‘s albums. Every day, we send an intern to the Best Buy across the street to re-buy us 500 copies of each record so we can be surrounded by them at all times. Our desks are made out of copies of Love vs. Money and we read each other the album liner notes while we blog just to make sure we have The-Dream on the brain at all times. On the off chance that we are slightly exaggerating though, we’ll just go ahead and say that Love King is a really fun record to listen to. We put dude on our current Summer Music Issue cover (get the PDF here), so you know we have faith. i believe the dream is the truth and best hope for the future of r&b, but i can’t deny that (with the exception of rude boy) dude has been in a bit of a slump lately… the first 3 tracks are good but they’re nothing like the singles from the first 2 albums. he tries so hard on this but just slightly misses it… if christina milian was the magic muse that inspired the first two albums, he needs to get back to her with a quickness. ‘sorry’ might be my favorite track on here. just sayin…
