Video: Frank Ocean, “Thinking About You”

Prolific “unofficial” directors High 5 Collective scored the hard money endorsement with their video for Frank Ocean‘s latest, “Thinking About You.” Grinding head-down pays off majorly for all producers involved. Ocean makes a cameo as a nurse, though mostly with the back of his head, his footage refreshingly entwined with a girl-saving Native American mystical ritual. And though you were my first time, a new feel/ It won’t ever get old, not in my soul/ Not in my spirit, keep it alive.

I hope this isn’t the official video. The song is too dope for this.

It is the official, Frank plays the doctor

just because you don’t feel like taking the time to figure out what it all means doesnt mean its a bad video. personally i liked it, its confusing the first few times but after awhile it kinda comes together. what did you want to see a tornado? non existent beach house in idaho? imaginary fighter jet?

It makes me feel good that a feature writer I respect from a magazine I adore can get all these nasty comments about his prose, but I would mention one slightly trivial victory that this story gains; the scenes Frank played on his interludes had bugged me out, I always guessed they were audio clips from movies like Fatal Attraction, movies of that nature, but MS sets it clear, good research.
