Video: Dye, “Fantasy” (NSFW)

October 24, 2011

I'm torn between describing "Fantasy" precisely, which would involve using so many fun words, and presenting it ambiguously, preserving the surprise of one of the year's wildest videos. The payoff hits magically, so here's strictly the facts: Dye is the solo project of the bassist from Joakim. He describes his debut album, Taki 183, as a "personal and progressive urban design," and it's out now on Paris-based Tigersushi. Jérémie Périn directed the video—he's the guy between last year's perverse joy "Truckers Delight" (far more NSFW)—and without giving much away, "Fantasy" continues his peerless animated mastery of teen anxiety, Lovecraft mythology and huge dicks.
