Travel to an Imagined Egyptian Night Club with a Free EP from Eyedress

Yet more dystopian synth-pop from the prolific 24-year-old.

"Felt bad about cancelling my tour so I dropped a free EP," explains Eyedress on Twitter, following up with a Soundcloud link to six tracks titled Egyptian Night Club. 24-year-old Idris Vicuna, interviewed in May for the FADER's World View column on Manila's rising creatives, doesn't seem to ever take a day off. Between this and the extra-terrestrial Hearing Colours mixtape released in April, he's also put out a collaborative project with Miami drawl-rapper Lofty305 and been working on his debut album for XL Recordings imprint Abeano as well as a guitar album. And yet, Egyptian Night Club is so much more than mere scraps: here, Vicuna is propelled through the imaginary club on his usual drunken surge of bass, his dark synth pop touching on "Hip Hop Spa" vibes with "Anything For Your Love (Alien Lap Dance)" and breaking through the smoke of introspection with bleak emotional turns from vocalist Skint Eastwood.
