This morning, Frank Ocean released a new single the same way he dropped his first album: a static tumblr post, this time with lyrics. "Memrise" recalls the self-taught simplicity of Frank's nostalgia, ULTRA--tape hiss and paper-towel tube reverb are employed well. And his lyrics still sneak in parables like You can't breathe if you're dipped in gold. No word on his new album, but it's good to hear from him. Hear "Memrise" here, and revisit Frank Ocean's FADER cover story here.
