Producer/DJ Esta tried his hand at singer Kali Uchis' saccharine ode to friend zones, "Know What I Want," and the results are sublime. The West Coast beat banger, and his Soulection crew in general, are good for giving R&B melodies a much-welcomed punch, and here he strains Kali's syrupy ska-wop through shimmering boom-bap effectively.
