Luis Vasquez's music as the Soft Moon is, for lack of a better phrase, fucking terrifying—and his latest single, "Black," is no exception. The tune's from the Soft Moon's forthcoming LP, Deeper, which is out March 31 via Captured Tracks; remixer extraordinaire Trentemøller's applied his touch to the tune too, heightening the tension and the tune's capable dancefloor potential. Nifty!
"I struggle with sociopathy," Vasquez said to FADER in an email about the single. "The innovation, mantra, and darkness within 'Black' gives me a sense of confidence to move forward in my everyday life". On a more positive note: "I really dig The Soft Moon, always an inspiration!," Trentemøller tells FADER. "From the original I only used the vocal and a bit of the noisey synth and around that I build a new soundscape with bas, guitars, a drum machine and my brand new purchase a really old vintage monophonic synth from '74 ! "
