D'Angelo announced his first New York City concert date in quite a while last week, but looks like he might be playing even earlier than planned due to a slight technicality: People reports that he'll appear with his band the Vanguard on the January 31 episode of Saturday Night Live. Whiplash star J.K. Simmons will host the night's episode—let's hope D and the Vanguard are getting his tempo right.
