Surrounded by a gloomy wooded terrain, Swedish singer-songwriter Sebastian Mikael soulfully narrates a tale of a lover scorned in his new video for “As Low As Me.” Catapulted onto the scene by the success of his 2013 single “Last Night,” featuring DC rapper Wale, Mikael has changed his tune from a lustful bedroom companion to a vengeful ex: “The song is about a break up that left me deserted,” Sebastian told The FADER. “I was hurt and wanted her to feel exactly how I felt; as low as me.”

Undeniably dark, yet refreshingly honest, the song's subject matter is lightened by a swift electronic beat lined with distorted human sound effects. Although we’d hate to have fun at his expense, we must admit the track is as danceable as it is reflective. Listen out for more from Mikael soon.
