Erykah Badu's suddenly prolific streak continued today as she shared her own version of Kanye West's latest track. She dubbed her rendition the "TRILL FRIENDS: BADU WHODINI rough mix," and borrowed some phrases from Whodini's "Friends," which came out in 1984.
"JUST ride out to this," she wrote on SoundCloud. "What up Yeezy? BADU MESSIN ROUND THIS MORNIN (really suppose be recording something else ...) presently in the BADUDIO w/ ZACH WITNESS. From the forth coming mixtape, THIS $h!t TOO EASY."
The little piano loop that buoys "Real Friends" isn't to far from the tinkling keys on Badu's "Phone Down," which in turn sound inspired by Drake's "Wu-Tang Forever." Listen below.
