In 2014, Erykah Badu made some high school students' (and teacher's) lunch period, surprising the Newark, New Jersey school as part of The Future Project. In the beginning of the video, which was posted today, Badu says, "Let's see if they know who I am; don't introduce me." She immediately dove in to a performance of "On & On" to screams from the students. She proceeded to climb on top of the cafeteria tables, even pausing to eat french fries off a student's tray while performing.

In a Facebook post around the time of the event, Badu announced her role as a Dream Director for The Future Project, writing, "Before I was a recording artist, my DREAM or choice occupation was teacher/ educator." Watch the video above.
