Angel Olsen Goes Synth-Pop In New Song/Video “Intern”

Watch as the indie-folk star takes a new turn in “trailer.”

June 01, 2016

Angel Olsen's new song and video "Intern" is a hard left turn from the charmed guitar odyssey she created on 2014's Burn Your Fire For No Witness. The song's smoldering synth-pop is completely affecting as well, like the soundtrack to an existential '80s prom night. Olsen directed the video, "with collaborative input from Ashley Connor and Jethro Waters" and the visuals plays a big role in illuminating the track. She stars as a silver-haired starlet, suffering a "clever young interviewer" and the face staring back at her in the dressing room mirror. It's listed as a trailer, but for what? More, please.
