YG’s Red Friday Mixtape Will Be Released As A $100 CD

“Super fans and super supporters only.”

November 21, 2016

YG's Red Friday is slated to drop this Friday, and this afternoon, he took to Twitter to announce some key details on the release. The announcement includes a flyer for a signing and meet-and-greet event in Oakland this Friday, and bills the tape as "the world's 2nd $100 CD."

Presumably, that's a reference to Nipsey Hussle, who pioneered the model by selling his own album Crenshaw for $100 back in 2013. The Oakland event will take place at Marshawn Lynch's Beastmode store, with 1400 copies of the album available in total. A rep for YG did not immediately respond to The FADER's request for comment.
