Buzzfeed News, via various French media outlets, reports that between 15 and 16 people have been arrested over the robbery of Kim Kardashian West in Paris last year. Kardashian West was held at gunpoint at the apartment where she was staying while she attended events for the city's Fashion Week. Close to $9 million worth of jewelry was stolen from her room in the incident, which left Ms. Kardashian West "badly shaken but physically unharmed," according to her spokeswoman.
Today. January 9, it is reported that French police have made a number of arrests in connection with the crime. Europe 1 reports that police officers have arrested 15 suspects, some of whom were known to the authorities prior to their arrest. Officials raided properties in the Paris region as well as in Seine-Maritime and the Alpes-Maritimes. Other French media reports suggest that 16 people have been arrested.
BBC News reports that the men are believed to be mostly in their 50s, with the oldest aged 72. French police said that DNA evidence left at the scene of the crime led to the arrests. Kardashian West is yet to make a statement.
