When Kanye West appeared at The BRIT Awards in 2015 Stormzy was one of the group who joined him on stage as he performed "All Day" live. Fast forward two years and Stormzy is on the verge of releasing his debut album and is now nominated for a BRIT himself. Today he made a nod back to that 2015 cameo with Kanye, as well as performing a song he loved, when he delivered his take on "Ultralight Beam" on BBC Radio 1.

Backed by gospel singers, Stormzy spat his own verses over the Life Of Pablo original. In his lyrics he spoke about remaining unsigned, helping his friends with money, his girlfriend Maya Jama, eating curly fries, and how "they put me on the poster just to match the quota." Speaking to host Clara Amfo beforehand, Stormzy said of "Ultralight Beam": "I love the message of the song. I love the musicality of the song. It's one of my favorite songs. Being on stage with Kanye was just a nang thing that happened."

Check out the track now via BBC Radio 1. Stormzy appears from the 2hr mark with "Ultralight Beam" at 2hrs 13m.
