Who is kiLL edward, the mysterious rapper featured on J.Cole’s new album?

A mystery artist has landed two features on Cole’s KOD.

J. Cole dropped the cover art and tracklist for KOD today, and the new project from the rapper has two features from someone called kILL edward. Immediately, the reaction overwhelmingly speculated that it was Kendrick Lamar – the two rappers have collaborated on music in the past, and are rumored to be working on a full project together.

However, music journalist Andres Tardio may have revealed who edward really is: J.Cole himself. edwards's voice on "Tidal Wave (just a little reference)," the only released track by the rapper, sounds like a slowed-down version of J. Cole's. According to Apple Music, it was released on April 18, 2018. Take a listen for yourself below. KOD is out Friday April 20.
