Mac DeMarco is dropping new album Here Comes The Cowboy on Friday and, in preparation for that moment, has shared a video for "On The Square." Directed by William Sipos and Sean Campos, the "On The Square" video features Tommy Midnight and involves DeMarco submerging his head in a milk bath and building a brick wall while dressed in a latex mask.
“This video has been my most intimate experience with milk yet,” said Sipos in a statement. “At one point I had Mac in a latex mask, shivering in a kiddie pool filled with cold milk. I did not feel like a nice person.”
"On The Square" will appear on Be The Cowboy alongside previous singles “All Of Our Yesterdays” and “Nobody.”
Last month DeMarco spoke about the minor blowback he received over the album title in relation to its similarity to that of Mitski's 2018 album, Be The Cowboy. He also teamed up with Logic on two songs from the rapper's latest project, Supermarket.
