Vallejo, California rapper Nef The Pharaoh’s fourth solo single of 2019 is a heater. “Beat That Vest Up,” featuring Sacramento rapper ShooterGang Kony, is a two-and-a-half minute adrenaline hit, finding Nef and Kony rapping over a thick, squelching beat by DTB, who also contributed to Nef’s 2018 tape The Big Chang Theory, as well as Oakland rapper Offset Jim’s debut project No Pressure. "Beat That Vest Up" is taken from Nef's upcoming record Mushrooms & Coloring Books, out August 15th via KILFMB / Sick Wid It / EMPIRE. Listen to “Beat That Vest Up” below.

Nef The Pharaoh had a short — but appropriate — statement about “Beat That Vest Up.” “This song was inspired by real life,” he told The FADER via email. “Don’t kill nobody after listening to this song.”
