Not since Gucci Mane has the rap world been as hyped for a prison release as Bobby Shmurda — the New York artist's career was just taking off when he was sentenced to seven years in prison on weapons charges in October 2016. His release from prison is rumored to be sometime in late 2020, but we may get new music before then: in an interview Ebro on Apple Music, Fivio Foreign claimed that Bobby Shmurda is planning on dropping a mixtape while he's still locked up.

The revelation comes after Ebro asks Fivio for some insight into the post-prison plans of Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel, Shmurda's associate in his crew GS9. “I spoke to Rebel on the phone, he said two weeks he got some fire coming out. He goin' crazy. And he's dropping a mixtape.” When Ebro responds "Who is?" Fivio clarifies: "Bobby! He droppin' a mixtape from jail."
