Like many smart people, Fiona Apple doesn't have a social media presence. However, she manages to get news about herself out into the world when the time is right. Her favored place to do so is the Tumblr fan site Fiona Apple Rocks and, on Sunday, she went there to suggest that she's finished making her fifth studio album.

A video, which can be seen above, was posted on the site on Sunday night. In it Apple is watching Born Yesterday, a 1950 George Cukor film about a newspaper reporter and his relationship with a crooked businessman's girlfriend.

The movie plays in the background of Apple's video as Judy Holliday is heard delivering the line: “Some people are always giving, and some taking. But it’s not fair. So I’m not gonna let ya anymore, or anybody else.” At this point Apple uses American Sign Language to spell out "My record is done."

Apple's most recent album, The Idler Wheel, was released in 2012. Last year she worked with King Princess, tried to collaborate with Lil Nas X, and contributed a song to animated sitcom Bob's Burgers.
