Last month, three men received life sentences for first degree murder in connection with the 2018 killing of XXXTentacion. Trayvon Newsome, Dedrick Williams, and Michael Boatwright will spend the rest of their lives behind bars. But Robert Allen — who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and armed robbery and cooperated with the prosecution, turning on his co-defendants — received a reduced sentence today (May 17) of seven years prison time plus 20 years of probation, the Miami Herald reports. The seven-year sentence includes the five years Allen spent in jail while during a lengthy trial process, meaning he’ll only serve two more years behind bars.

XXXTentacion was shot and killed in Miami on June 18, 2018. Police determined his murder a random attack at the time. He was 20 years old.

Last year, FADER Films released two documentaries about the South Florida rapper’s troubled life and tragic death. Look At Me: XXXTentacion arrived in May, with In His Own Words: XXXTENTACION following in November.
