They Hate Change have returned with their first new music in over a year: “stunt (when I see u)” follows the Tampa rap duo’s May 2022 album, Finally, New. On the new song, rappers-producers Vonne Parks and Andre “Dre” Gainey trade barbed verses, spitting venom as they unload the chips on their respective shoulders.

The targets of their wrath are an undefined group of haters, their flexes a mix of traditional hip-hop brags (“Gold on my teeth, I’ma stunt when I see you”) and less common fare (“We just did a show with Courtney B[arnett, whose heartfelt note to the band is the track’s cover art] and the homie Lucy Dacus”). “This track is our mantra in a way, a reminder to ourselves to show what we are capable of when others seem to doubt or discredit things we’ve done,” Vonne and Dre write in the single’s press release. “We’re going to continue to do what we do and that’s CHANGE!’”
