Kevin Abstract has announced his third solo album and his first since the official dissolution of BROCKHAMPTON. Blanket is due out November 3 via Video Store and RCA Records.
The news arrives a week after the release of the project’s lead single and title track, and comes with a one-minute teaser video titled “GUM,” directed by Cole Bat. The clip is set in a retrofuturist diner, where its young protagonist sits at a table surrounded by Monsters, Inc.-style creatures. As he slides out of his booth to look for a cup that has surreptitiously slid off the table, he touches a piece of gum stuck to the table’s bottom. The gum quickly spreads across his body like a virus, consuming him completely.
