From the start, almost everyone has compared Nipsey Hussle to Snoop (including us), probably more because of his build, braids and smirk than his rapping, but this collabo should put that to rest. Hussle is raspier and more aggressive to Snoop’s long lost silky menace, and as much a product of Game and Xzibit as anything else, and that’s probably why he’s being propped up as the new voice of the West Coast. Go listen to Game’s “California Vacation” and you have Hussle’s whole DNA. But he even beats up on this mellow riding track, to the point that you gotta wonder what its like to, like, go to the beach with this dude. Probably makes you feel like an asshole for not passing the sunscreen fast enough, which is not a bad thing, we all need to stop being such mark ass busters about skin cancer.

Hot Chip recorded this cover on UK XFM recently, but this mp3 on Fluo Kids is the first we’ve seen of it. And since the Fluo Kids so thoroughly, yet effortlessly (smugly? Frenchly?) slayed the dancefloor at the FADER Fort last week, we thought we’d send some link action their way for the download. They actually kind of looked like the picture above in a weird way, only younger and better looking and not hermaphrodites.
