Video: Interpol, “Barricade”

August 27, 2010

Feels like Interpol's loosened up over the past ten years—not because their music's gotten any less tense or interlocking, but because their coiffures have been mussier and less studiously tended-to in the last few years. They haven't become unfashionable, of course (never that), but there's something nice and freeing about seeing Paul Banks sans hair gel, even if he still is singing about his neuroses. They're like old school chums who've finally come into their own, feeling good enough about themselves to rumple up now and again. We miss Carlos Dengler and the old Vlad 'do though, luv u boo don't ever change.
