Mixing ambient piano (CFCF) with darkly-cast rap anthems (further elaborated by HTDW editorials like "SICK AND TIRED REPETITION MIX" and "U CAN'T TELL THE HOMIE NOTHING HE DONE FELT TOO MUCH PAIN REPETITION MIX") and Janet Jackson's honeysuckle-sweet "Special" strained by a dowager-like voice over to such seamlessly uplifting despair, that by the time he cues up Future's "Straight Up," you don't know whether or not to laugh or cry. Or, as Krell describes it in the mixtapes' accompanying interview, "...most of the time I'm walking around like, 'Ugh, I don't know what I want, I don't know what I need, who am I?'"
