The Things I Carry: Smoke DZA and Harry Fraud

We always like to know what some of our favorite artists carry in their purses (and man-purses)—the essential items that they need for touring or subway rides, the Grammys or any other thing that they might be doing these days, which is why we’ve made it a regular column on the site.

When Smoke DZA and producer Harry Fraud stopped by to play us Rugby Thompson, their collaborative album that's loosely based on Steve Buscemi's Boardwalk Empire character Nucky Thompson, they predictably made the whole room smell dank. After the record ran through—with Fraud occasionally standing up to swing his hair to the beat—they agreed to empty their pockets, revealing no less than four bags of multi-flavored weed as well as smoker's essentials like RAW rolling papers, Clear Eyes and gum. The duo was well accessorized, too, DZA rocked lots of gold and jewel tones and Fraud generously passed out rubber bracelets inscribed with his "la musica de Harry Fraud" drop written on them. Rugby Thompson is out today. Stream the entire album below the pictures, and buy it here.
