We've been pretty hooked on Maya Jane Coles' snaky house sensibility since giving her recent DJ Kicks collection a spin, not to mention her unforgettable remix of Bo Saris' "She's On Fire," which was equal parts dark labyrinth and unchained soul. What we didn't know was that the 24-year-old London DJ and producer actually has a lot of originals up her sleeve, and that rather than outsource the vocals, she's dialing them in herself. To tide us over until her 2013 full-length, Coles is dropping a four-track EP on her very own I Am Me imprint, and it's full of snappy beat work, languorous song and dubby flourishes.
