FKA Twigs Has Made A Concept Film For Google Glass

“Video Girl” becomes a nightmarish reflection on identity in the digital age, with killer krump moves.

October 20, 2014

FADER cover star and superstar in the making FKA Twigs has just shared a new audiovisual piece called #ThroughGlass that she created and directed for Google Glass. Featuring a crazed remix of LP1 track "Video Girl"—well, it's more like a total overhaul, featuring fragments of other album vocals thrown into the mix alongside a new verse—the video shows Twigs coming face-to-face with a bunch of Twigs-a-likes who appear out of the ether after she puts on her Google Glass. The whirlwind two minutes are an eerie comment on the tricky nature of establishing an identity in a digital age, as well as a solid reminder of Twigs' world class krumping moves. Watch it above, and remember: whatever you do, don't call it "alternative R&B."
