Get Your Daily Dose Of R&B With Miguel’s Wildheart

The singer’s new album is now streaming.

Miguel loves releasing songs in batches of three. He’s done it at least five times—three EPs of three songs apiece before Kaleidoscope Dream, another three-track dump in December, and three more tracks last week. Thankfully, it’s now album time, so you don’t have to make do with these small bursts of creativity. Miguel changed his sound and image a lot between his debut, All I Want Is You, and his follow-up; Wildheart is his first release where he stays the course, embracing and expanding on riff heavy R&B. It’s a focused project, with few guests—the rapper Kurupt shows up on “NWA,” and while “Coffee” originally featured Wale, the album version does not include the MC. Lenny Kravitz appears on the album’s final track to lend a hand, and maybe to crown Miguel as his successor. Listen over at NPR, and watch the singer on FADER TV below.
