Stream Wolf Eyes’ I Am A Problem: Mind In Pieces

“It is not intentionally meant to be shocking, sad or scary, but it is.

Today, Detroit noisemakers Wolf Eyes rattle and rock back onto the scene with a wrecking new album titled I Am A Problem: Mind In Pieces, which is streaming exclusively on The FADER ahead of its October 30th release via Jack White’s Third Man Records. The six track project is the culmination of the particularly turbulent spell that the group—which now features a lineup of Nathan Young, John Olson, and James Baljo—has weathered in the time since No Answer: Lower Floors's 2013 release. To give you an idea of just how crazy things were, here is what Young had to say in an email to The FADER about these past couple years:

"Jim went to jail 4 times and almost dies from spinal meningitis. John declares 'noise is dead' and pisses off the entire experimental music scene. My older brother Peter Bradley Young died at age 45, my family's good friend and drummer of the Stooges Scott Asheton died at 64. Wolf Eyes tours Israel and visits with the entire experimental music underground, radicals, atheists and a military cadet modern dance troupe performing to our music. Later in the year Wolf Eyes performs at the 'The Unveiling' the largest Satanic event in history. Michigan christian militants groups become interested in our live shows."

"This is a bit of our bands personal history," Young said of the new record. "It is not intentionally meant to be shocking, sad or scary—but it is." Hear for yourself below.
