On Wednesday night, Nicki Minaj posted two pictures to Instagram of a giant diamond ring, causing blogs and fans alike to speculate whether or not she had become engaged to her boyfriend, Meek Mill.
In one of the uploads, she tagged Meek, writing "Now this is what I'm talking about baby. Lol. Love u." (A rep for Meek did not have any explanation and a rep for Nicki Minaj did not return a request for comment at time of publication.)
Meanwhile, Nicki appeared on Thursday's cover of Billboard's No. 1's issue where she talked about rings and Meek. "He and I are not engaged," she said. "But he said he would like to give me three rings before we get married. My birthday’s coming up, and he better get the new one, because he got [the first one] for my last birthday. So let’s see what happens."
Back in May, Meek himself told The FADER, that the pair were not engaged, quieting rumors started in April, after Nicki shared photos of another ring—this one heart-shaped— on Instagram. “It’s definitely real,” Meek said of his and Nicki’s relationship then. “But it ain’t really time to get married yet. We’re still learning each other, feeling each other out.”
