Watch T.I. Introduce His Character From History’s Upcoming Roots Remake

History announced earlier this year that the network would be remaking the classic Roots series. Tip "T.I." Harris will appear in the show, along with Forest Whitaker and Laurence Fishburne, playing a slave fighting for the Union army in the Civil War. In a new promotional video for Roots, which will air on Memorial Day, T.I. explains the character of "Cyrus" as well the importance of remaking Roots. "Roots opens up the floor for a much needed discussion," T.I. says. "It's time to take it a step further so the story can live on."
