As a seminal member of Dark World - the nebulous collective of rappers, singers, and producers that are currently making some of the greatest videos on the internet - DJ Lucas crafts off-kilter and personal songs that offer a window into his life in rural Western Massachusetts. Today, Lucas is announcing his Til Death Do Us Part 1 project, to be released on Halloween, and premiering a new video for "Rockstar" via The FADER.
In the "Rockstar" clip, Lucas and some of his Dark World cohorts line up as a four-piece band, as Lucas raps in monotone about his father's high hopes for his music career. "I been working on this project for a good part of a year," Lucas explained over email to The FADER. "Excited to bring what I feel is the fully formulated DJ! sound to the people."
Til Death Do Us Part 1 is due out October 31 via Letter Racer/Dark World. Watch the video for "Rockstar" above and find artwork and tracklist for the project below.
