Trance Piano Fusion Didn’t Have To Be A Thing But It Rules

The FADER’s love of CFCF’s music has been well documented, since at least when the shape-shifting composer was profiled in the magazine in 2011. Just this past December, he popped up on a ranked list of the year’s best tracks featuring acoustic guitar — not even an instrument he’s known for playing.

Now, a collaboration with the neo-classicist pianist Jean-Michel Blais has led to one of his most beguiling tracks yet. “Hypocrite,” a song from a forthcoming EP from the pair entitled Cascades, urgently demands that someone put a grand piano and some strobe lights into an Olympic stadium, stat. (The Piano Guys are not invited but I'd be down to see an Andrew Rayel double-bill. )

A digital release is scheduled for March 15, with vinyl due April 14. Both are available for pre-order now.
