"Rave Angel" by Evelyn Masaon a.k.a. Evy Jane is a platonic love song wrapped in dreamy electronic R&B, dedicated to those who keep us safe in our most vulnerable moments. The Vancouver artist, who released a debut album Breaking last year, casts a haze of synths among impassioned lyrics that catch the ping-ponging ambivalence of an addled headspace.

"I wrote this song for my friends and rave angels," Mason told The FADER over email. "The attitudes of youth, drugs, experiencing and witnessing sexual assault at raves. It's for all the rave angels who watch over others, giving water and grounding people's bad trips. But it can apply to all protectors."
