Beyoncé turned 36 on Monday, September 4. She celebrated at Made In America in Philadelphia where JAY-Z asked fans to serenade her with "Happy Birthday." Backstage the celebrations also involved a huge black and gold birthday cake, as the bakers who made it have revealed.
The owners of Cake Life Bake Shop told Philly Mag that they received an from New York order to create a cake and other treats to be delivered to the Made In America site. The request specifically asked for a geode themed cake and the bakers delivered, creating a volcano-like honey and lavender cake featuring edible sugar crystals and a golden grown. The cake was joined by cookies shaped like beehives.
Page Six notes that Cake Life's cakes “start at $3,500 and go up in price depending on detail, complexity, and size."
