It was no surprise when BET announced that Cardi B was nominated for multiple awards for the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper ended up taking home the awards for Hustler of the Year, Single of the Year, and Best New Artist.
She also performed the No. 1, platinum single with her own Bronx flair. For Cardi’s performance, the backdrop of the stage was a bodega, while the rapper stole the show in a huge coat and diamond bralette. “Bodak Yellow” recently beat Lauryn Hill’s record for the longest running No. 1 single from a solo woman rapper.
During her acceptance speech for Best New Artist, the 24-year-old shouted out her fans, Jesus, and of course her boyfriend. “This has been one of the greatest nights of my life, but you, you’re gonna make it better,” she said pointing to Migos' Offset.
Check out her performance and acceptance speech below. Cardi B previously said fans can expect her new album to come out sometime this month.
