The news follows shortly behind the announcement of his album Godfather II, due out on March 3. All in all Wiley has had a great year. His autobiography, Eskiboy, was well received, and he was also awarded the NME’s ‘Outstanding Contribution to Music’ Award and Q’s ‘Innovation in Sound’ award.

“I’m honoured to be receiving an MBE," said Wiley of the award. "It feels like the school grade I wanted and didn’t get but now I’m finally there. I would like to thank my mother and father plus all family members and friends for being there for me when I needed them.”
