Lil Uzi Vert's "XO Tour Llif3" was one of the biggest songs of 2017, but its producer, TM88, claims that he hasn't been paid any money for his work. "Never paid for xo ballin off old checks," the 808 Mafia member wrote on Twitter in response to a post from another user who claimed he'd been paid for "Tour Llif3." The song was released by DJ Drama's label Generation Now and Atlantic Records.

More and more producers have spoken up against perceived unfair treatment by record labels since October, when Metro Boomin tweeted "Fuck Atlantic Records", targeting Mike Caren, head of the company's Artist Partner Group. This week, E. Dan claimed labels like Atlantic were calling projects "mixtapes" rather than albums to avoid fairly compensating producers.

Lil Uzi Vert is estimated to have made more than $900,000 from streams of "XO Tour Llif3," while his label Atlantic Records may have netted over $4.5 million.

Through a representative, TM88 declined to comment further when reached by The FADER. A representative for Atlantic Records was not immediately available.
