Kelly was arrested and charged yesterday with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse for events that reportedly took place between 1998 and 2010. Today, a judge set the bond at $250,000 for each of the four victims centered in the case, for a total of $1,000,000, also ordering that Kelly have no contact with victims, witnesses or anyone under the age of 18. The singer must also turn over his passport. Under the terms of the agreement, the singer must only put up $100,000.

Kelly was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in Cook County in a case involving four victims. According to the Chicago Tribune, three of those charges "referred to a minor between the ages of 13 and 16."

This marks the second time Kelly has been charged by Cook County prosecutors with a sex crime after he was indicted in 2002 on child pornography charges, alleging he had filmed himself engaged in sexual acts with a 13-year-old girl. In 2008, he was acquitted of charges. Kelly has long maintained his innocence, but these charges come in the wake of recent Buzzfeed and New York Times reports, new accusations and the damning information from the Lifetime network documentary series, Surviving R. Kelly. This would all lead to the #MuteRKelly campaign, the removal of the singer from official streaming service playlists, and being dropped by his label Sony Music.
