Mac DeMarco has been talking a lot about iconic Japanese musician Haruomi Hosono while on the press trail for his latest record Here Comes The Cowboy. As recently as last week, DeMarco joked that he was “just trying to rip off” Hosono in a CBC interview. So, y’know: man loves him!

It’s fitting, then, that DeMarco joined Hosono onstage in LA last night to perform the latter’s 1975 track “Honey Moon,” from the record Tropical Dandy. Hosono was in LA to perform a rare string of shows in support of the recent reissue of his iconic Hosono House. Watch footage of the “Honey Moon” performance above.
