Rapsody's new single "Ibtihaj" is, at first glance, a tribute to Ibtihaj Muhammad — the U.S. Olympic medalist who made history as the first Muslim-American woman to wear a hijab during the competition. On a more macro level, though, it's about the courage it takes to pave your own path, a sentiment echoed by a guest appearance from D'Angelo (who interpolates a bit of GZA's "Liquid Swords"), as well as a verse from GZA himself. D'Angelo doesn't appear in the video, but GZA does, alongside Roxanne Shanté and Mary J. Blige.

"Ibtihaj" will appear on Rapsody's forthcoming project Eve, which she described to Essence as "my ode to the women in my life and... the village of Black women." It's due to drop later this month, but in the mean time, check out the star-studded clip for "Ibtihaj" above.
