Kacey Musgraves was one of several musicians who were grieving publicly in the wake of the weekend's mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas.

Musgraves performed at Lollapalooza on Sunday, and addressed the crowd between songs. “I don’t know what the answer is but obviously something has to be fucking done." She then invited the audience to join in: "Maybe somebody will hear us if we all yell together and say, ‘Somebody fucking do something.'” Musgraves lifted the microphone to the audience, who repeated her call.

On Monday, Musgraves posted a Tweet accusing President Donald Trump of "blatantly and murderously ignor[ing] doing ONE THING" to prevent mass shootings, presumably a push for gun control.

John Legend rest the blame more squarely at Trump's feet, tweeting: "When we condemn the racist venom coming from the President's mouth and point out the bigotry of his policies, it's not an academic question, it's not a political game, it's about life and death. The President regularly inspires killers. He is a part of the problem."
