The Labor Day weekend is coming up and summer is in its last throes. It's a wonderful time to spend time with your friends and acquaintances in the great outdoors. Perhaps you will go to a barbecue or enjoy a hike through one of America's wonderful National Parks. Or maybe you'll spend almost three hours watching the director's cut of Ari Aster's deeply disturbing horror movie Midsommar, which is coming to cinemas this weekend. A24 confirmed the news this morning on Twitter and you can watch the new trailer at the top of the page.

The director's cut includes 24 extra minutes of footage, taking the film to 171 minutes in total. Critics who saw the director's cut when it screened at the Lincoln Center last week said that the longer runtime made for a more rewarding experience, so maybe you should cancel the barbecue after all.
