Nicki Minaj says she's calling it quits. "I've decided to retire & have my family," she tweeted on Thursday afternoon. "I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, X in the box— cuz aint nobody checkin me." It's a jarring announcement from the prolific rapper, one that contradicts her her latest episode of her Beats 1 show Queen Radio, during which she teased a new project with a "dope" executive producer attached to it.

It's been a busy summer for Nicki Minaj. She recently guested on tracks from Megan Thee Stallion and Pop Smoke. Earlier this summer, she dropped "MEGATRON," her first single since releasing her fourth album Queen. Ahead of that LP, Minaj went on an extended social media hiatus, prompting her fans to launch a website counting up the days since she posted on Twitter and Instagram.
