It’s not about the Darren Aronofsky movie, but it still slaps!

In case you weren't aware, Puth season is in full swing. After returning with "I Warned Myself" back in August, our guy is back with yet another banger. This one is called "Mother," and when Puth was teasing the track, I was instantly reminded of Darren Aronofsky's iconic and critically polarizing 2017 film of the same name. Sadly, the song has nothing to do with the harrowing trauma Jennifer Lawrence is forced to endure while being trapped in a sentient house with Javier Bardem.

Instead, it's a cheeky romp about all the secrets Puth and his girl keep from her parents. Yes, he does mention "daddy" in the lyrics, in case you were wondering. Penned and produced with Andrew Watt, Louis Bell, and Ryan Tedder, the track arrives with a poolside clip that feels lifted from an episode of That's 70s Show. Again, Michelle Pfeiffer never shows up to assert her presence and ruin breakfast. But I'll take it.
