Amid all of the discourse about Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola hating on Marvel movies it's noteworthy that they haven't said a word about the Fast & Furious franchise. And why would they? That is a spectacular run of movies and the only place you can see Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson fist fight a helicopter. Today delivers another boost for the series with the news that beloved urbano artist Ozuna is joining the Fast & Furious universe for the ninth instalment of the main series, which hits theaters next year.

“As you know, we have often found great talent in the music industry to cross over into film," Vin Diesel wrote in the caption alongside a picture of himself with Ozuna and director Justin Lin. "They are expected to leave all the accolades at the door to embrace the character with integrity... and that is exactly what Ozuna has done. Very proud of your work and role in Fast 9! Pa Mi Gente! All Love, Always.”

Diesel is correct in stating that the music industry has been kind to the Fast movies — alongside regulars Ludacris and Tyrese the movies have also boasted cameos from Rita Ora, Ja Rule, and Iggy Azalea over the years.
