After sharing "lucy" earlier this fall, Soccer Mommy is back with another single. This one is called "yellow is the color of her eyes," a seven-minute slow burn that reckons with a crossroad in Sophie Allison's life. “The song was inspired by a time when I was on the road constantly and I felt like I was losing time — specifically with my mother," Allison wrote in a press statement. "It’s also a song that I feel really showcases my writing when it comes to instrumentation, so it’s one that makes me really proud.“
The track, which also features harpist Mary Lattimore, arrives with an equally stunning video to match. The Alex Ross Perry-directed clip has Allison saturated in the titular hue, one that oscillates between sunny and oppressive. Check it out below, via Loma Vista.
